Whether you’re an individual, corporate team, community group, a small group of friends, with skilled experience or not, there are many different ways for you to volunteer.
There are so many ways to get involved!
Giving back to your community is easy with Habitat for Humanity Kamloops. There are so many rewarding opportunities that will fit your schedule, interests, and skill level, including:
Our ReStore relies on over 40 regular volunteers who work alongside staff members to assist with merchandising, work the cash desk, fix small and large appliances, test lighting before it goes to the floor, organize in the warehouse, washing donated items before they go to the floor, organizing our book department, and all things that help to keep the ReStore looking its best! We could not run the ReStore without our volunteers and are always needing more people. Many of our volunteers in the ReStore volunteer for a regular shift.
build site volunteer
There are lots of ways to get involved with our Build! We are always looking for corporate teams to join us. Get out from behind your desk and grab a shovel, a hammer, or maybe a paintbrush and spend a day with us. It is a great thing to do for your community and a fun team building opportunity for your company. Our homes are built with the help of volunteers who are skilled labourers, electricians, plumbers, framers, etc. If you have these skills we can use your help. For safety reasons, all shifts must be pre-determined and booked ahead with the Executive Director and Project Manager.
board of directors
Our directors contribute invaluable ideas, industry experience, and provide overall support to the work of Habitat for Humanity Kamloops. Our AGM is in June and we are currently searching for new members to join our Board. Current Board committees include:

Our office has exciting opportunities for recent graduates, students, retirees, and working professionals to work for the Society. Opportunities are changing all the time and include general office admin tasks and larger projects to assist the Society.
global village program
Global Village trips take place around the world and can be a life changing experience. It’s an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of development issues, to learn more about another culture and about yourself. You will be more than a tourist as you are welcomed into the community by your hosts and introduced to the local culture as a guest. You will work together, share stories, and make friends. Habitat for Humanity Kamloops hosts many events throughout the year. The time commitment, location, and type of volunteer opportunity varies from one event to another. Volunteers lend a hand in many ways and we could not run our events without the help of our volunteers.
