It was also determined that as a senior’s development, the units would require less square footage therefore the development could be adjusted to 22 – 24-unit residence.This would require the submission of a development permit application with the building designs. Habitat for Humanity will have this submitted as early as January 2020.We are hoping to start the project construction by May of 2020.
City planners & Habitat for Humanity believe that the 10th street location is a great fit for seniors housing as there is many services within walking distance such as a community center and a pharmacy.
It is our intention to ensure that this development is a great benefit to the community as well as to helps to provide decent & affordable housing for Salmon Arm’s senior citizens.
