Habitat for Humanity Kamloops & The Enderby Legion are joining forces to develop attainable housing for Senior’s and Veterans in Enderby. The Habitat Kamloops project will have commercial office space on the main level and residential housing on the upper floors consisting of approximately 40 to 60 units
The Royal Canadian Legion was founded by Veterans for Veterans. The Enderby Legion was founded in 1928 and consists of 350+ Legion members. Cindy Tottenham, President of the Enderby Legion stated the she is “Very excited about the project and is looking forward to working with Habitat Kamloops”. “We know this will have a positive impact on our community, there is no way to put into words how the project will benefit the Seniors & Veterans we serve”.
The current location of the Enderby Legion is 909 Belvedere Street although that may not be the site that is chosen for the new build.The mission of the Royal Canadian Legion in Canada is to serve Veterans, including serving military and RCMP members and their families. Also, to promote remembrance as well as serve our communities and our country.
Habitat for Humanity Kamloops and the Enderby Legion are planning on working together to provide safe, affordable and attainable housing for the Seniors & Veterans in the Enderby community. This project will not only assist with housing but also help to create jobs and improve housing in the region.
